ABOUT
Lining is a decorative neo-grotesque sans-serif. It was developed as a contemporary reinterpretation of a typeface family first advertised by the American Type Founders Company in 1897. The squared angles of certain letterforms give Lining a digital character that belies its nineteenth-century origin.

The squared angles of certain letterforms hint at a mechanical influence upon Lining’s design.

Modifying Lining
We offer tailored modifications of our existing retail fonts, including Lining. This can involve anything from subtle adjustments to more extensive reworking, depending on the project’s aims.
By adapting an existing design, we can deliver something distinct and purposeful, without the lead time of a fully bespoke commission.
