A Practice for Everyday Life

Located within the newly reopened Centro de Arte Moderna in Lisbon, A mesa do CAM is a restaurant, helmed by André Magalhães, which focuses on seasonal produce and close collaboration with local suppliers. Its name – ‘CAM's Table’ – is inspired by the restaurant’s striking central table, designed by the museum’s architect Kengo Kuma with a modular design that adapts to different dining experiences.

The restaurant’s visual identity reflects its values of seasonality and camaraderie. A handwritten lock-up with the geometric CAM logotype introduces an organic dimension, while the use of a serif typeface gives the restaurant its own distinctive voice. The restaurant’s ethos and culinary vision expand across a suite of physical materials including signage, menus for a la carte and cafeteria-style dining.

We also developed the new visual identity and opening campaign for CAM – Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian, centering around a bespoke new logotype that echoes the thinking behind CAM’s dynamic programme and Kengo Kuma’s new architectural intervention. Read more here.
