A Practice for Everyday Life

Theater of Exhibitions is a collection of writings on art and exhibition-making by curator Jens Hoffman. The texts consider the role of the exhibition in the post-art environment, contextualising the practice of curation within a wider political, social and economic sphere. Our design uses the typeface Joanna, designed by Eric Gill; he described it as 'a book face free from all fancy business.' The text is accompanied by a plates section of illustrations of iconic or notable theatres, museums and galleries, created by APFEL.
