Filmed inside Cambridge University’s anechoic chamber, and featuring former Guantanamo Bay detainee Ruhal Ahmed, this short film by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin was created for Massive Attack as the music video for Saturday Come Slow. The film presents a reflection of Ahmed’s experiences whilst in detention at Guantanamo Bay, which involved interrogation with high volume music. Working with Arvid Niklasson, we created simple animations inspired by scientific teaching videos, to highlight points made during the film. This was presented alongside hand-drawn, exhausted typography for the titles and credits that played further upon the themes within the work.
