A Practice for Everyday Life

Published in summer 2015, this monograph is the largest printed survey of Linder’s artworks to date, containing over 240 works. Building on the working relationship we established when realizing the exhibition Linder: Femme/Objet in 2013, we worked closely with Linder to develop the structure of the book and select works for inclusion. We incorporated several physical interventions such as die-cut pages, paper stock changes, short sections and other physical details into the design, in homage to the tongue-in-cheek details we enjoyed so much in Derek Birdsall’s work for Monty Python’s Big Red Book, where these interventions bring the humour of the work to life.

Images throughout the book have been painstakingly reproduced following close dialogue with the artist and her gallery representatives, and are accompanied by an interview with Linder by art historian and curator Dawn Ades. On the occasion of the book’s release, Stuart Shave/Modern Art presented an exhibition of her works at Frieze New York 2015.
