We designed a publication to accompany the Linder: Femme/Objet exhibition at Musee d’art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Printed on a mixture of glossy magazine paper and newsprint, then tape bound, the publication’s physical format echoes that of the fanzines produced by Linder earlier in her career.
We were both visual editors and designers for the fanzine, gathering together collections of Linder’s imagery from her extensive body of work, alongside an interview with Morrissey and essays by the curator of the Femme/Objet exhibition, Emmanuelle De l’Ecotais, and other writers. When the exhibition travelled to Kestnergesellschaft in Hannover, we designed an updated version of the fanzine, incorporating translations of the original texts into both German and English.
As one of Morrissey’s closest friends, Linder photographed him several times – her photographs were used for the covers of both Your Arsenal and Beethoven Was Deaf, among many others.
