A Practice for Everyday Life

Camper: Life on Foot was the first exhibition to trace the 40-year history of the Mallorcan footwear company. Our design for the show reinterpreted aspects of the Camper identity outside of their usual context. The entrance made playful use of the Camper bridge emblem, directing visitors to focus on the feet of other people in the space; elsewhere, Camper’s famous Pelotas sole was adapted into a large floor pattern, prompting visitors to think about their feet and the act of walking. This same motif was echoed in the round, coloured fixings used within the display.

The section titles of the exhibition referenced traditional finger-post signs, with the directional arms displaying key works and interpretation panels. A minimal display system based on a coloured line travelled through the exhibition, guiding the visitor and creating a flow between the different thematic areas.
