Published to coincide with an exhibition by the same name at The Hepworth Wakefield, this publication explores new work by Jadé Fadojutimi, inspired by the artist's experience of the COVID-19 pandemic and her connection to nature throughout. The book is the second in a publishing series, which accompanies the Hepworth’s programme showcasing new works by leading contemporary artists.
The book’s cover features an immersive detail of A Draped Spectacle (2022), chosen for its use of varied green tones as a nod to the exhibition’s title. An acetate slipcover further accentuates the cover image – the artist’s name is silk-screened and carefully layered over the work in a vibrant neon green. Immersive full-bleed details and writings by Fadojutimi are woven together to offer further insight into the artist’s practice. Installation shots are scattered throughout the publication in dialogue with the works, highlighting the conversation that the series strikes with the architecture of the Hepworth’s galleries.
The first title in the series was centered on Christina Quarles and published in 2020.
