A Practice for Everyday Life

Rees & Co is a cultural communications agency whose local roster of clients includes commercial and public galleries, museums, festivals and individual artists. We were commissioned to design a new visual identity which was distinctive, characterful and appropriate, yet did not overshadow the work of their clients. We worked closely with founder Carrie Rees to develop a distinctive direction for the agency which moved towards a minimal and contemporary identity, favouring a graphic approach using only the name and the outstanding list of clients over a more typical image-led design.

We created a logotype featuring unusual quirks and details, highlighting their unique and bespoke approach to communications. We also developed and designed a range of templates for the agency, offering them the flexibility to create proposals, reports, newsletters and folios for their clients within one cohesive visual scheme; carefully chosen packaging and mailing materials including glassine, waxed thread and kraft board all compliment this. For the new website, simple content is brought to life using a series of playful transitions and the list of clients.
