This invitation was created for an event held at London Fashion Week 2013 to celebrate and promote the work of two up-and-coming Korean designers, Eudon Choi and J. JS Lee. The event was organised by Korean Cultural Centre UK, the cultural arm of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in London, in collaboration with Sarah Mower MBE, the British Fashion Council’s Ambassador for Emerging Talent. The design of the invitation features a bespoke typeface echoing the gestures of brush lettering, alongside the four trigrams featured on the flag of South Korea. The trigrams represent nature, seasons, directions, virtues, family, and elements – they come together to represent justice, fruition, wisdom and vitality.
