This fascinating exhibition brought together historical artefacts with contemporary film and literature to explore the human context of dirt, our relationship with it through the centuries, and how we plan to deal with it in the future. The graphic scheme took on a range of dirty characteristics; the entire entrance wall was covered with flocking to emulate a splattering of muck, typographic elements throughout the show were formed of fibres resembling the contents of a Hoover bag, and painted aluminium panels were screenprinted with the exhibition texts to provide a contrasting feel of cleanliness.
