A Practice for Everyday Life

Co-Art: Artists on Creative Collaboration explores the creative practice of twenty-five leading artist duos and collectives, to gain insight into the benefits of their collaborative approach and offer food for thought for anyone seeking to work creatively with others. Written by Ellen Mara De Wachter, the book includes conversations with artists, designers and architects including Allora & Calzadilla, Assemble, Broomberg & Chanarin, Elmgreen & Dragset, Guerrilla Girls and SUPERFLEX.

The design of the publication reflects the contemporaneity of the featured artists within. On the cover, overlapping shapes symbolise the wide variety of disciplines and collaborative approaches that the book explores; these are overprinted using five spot colours to create a range of vivid shades. Brightly coloured section dividers introduce each contributor, unifying the diverse range of portrait imagery they supplied. The typeface used throughout is Theinhardt, a contemporary and very legible sans serif which facilitates an economical layout, to accommodate large expanses of text.
