I Like It. What Is It? is a book of posters by Anthony Burrill, designed to be pulled out and put up on the wall. APFEL have collaborated with Burrill on several projects since 2003 – we share a love of simplicity, straightforwardness, mass production, found type, everyday posters and dancing. It was a pleasure to work on this with him and bring together some of his most distinctive, witty and well-known poster designs.
The book includes 30 pull-out posters, printed onto one-sided greyboard with details of the stories behind the designs on the back, and a page of stickers including ‘This Way Down’ and ‘Sorry, We’re Open!’. We also collaborated with Burill on the design of a poster for the book, creating a bespoke typeface, APFEL|AB, in the process.
The poster is available on our shop, and a full study of the bespoke typeface can be found on the APFEL Type Foundry.
