A Practice for Everyday Life is a design agency working with some of the world’s most successful companies, galleries, institutions and individuals. We create a diverse range of work including brand identities, art direction, signage & wayfinding, exhibition design, print, editorial & publishing and websites from concept to production.

We investigate, explore and experiment to draw together stories which can translate and transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. This approach has always led to thoughtful and inspired design solutions, and earned us a reputation for crafting intelligent, beautiful and innovative work.

The Labour Party

What is now proved was once only imagined

Poster

We were invited to create a gorilla campaign poster that also formed part of a fund-raising auction for the Labour Party, leading up to the 2010 general election. The William Blake quote “What is now proved was once only imagined” speaks to us of the spirit, creativity and ambition required for a successful government. Blake was an artist particularly concerned with the problems of his day. His view that rationalism should be balanced by imagination also rings true for our approach to design. On the poster, the quote overprints a summarised list of the Labour Party’s achievements to date.
