A Practice for Everyday Life is a design agency working with some of the world’s most successful companies, galleries, institutions and individuals. Modern British Sculpture

Publication

This publication was a catalogue of work and essays to accompany the 2011 exhibition of the same name at the Royal Academy of Arts. An exploration of sculpture of varying styles from the end of the Victorian era to the dawn of the new millennium, the exhibition looked at how the use of traditional materials has moved towards the unconventional, and explored the dematerialisation of the object itself. We used Berthold Block's unconventionally chiseled lettering for titles, accompanied with the very British New Johnston for sub-titles and chapter introductions, and Caslon for body text. Images are arranged throughout at varying scales, playing on the artworks sizes and showcasing closer detailing.
