A Practice for Everyday Life is a design agency working with some of the world’s most successful companies, galleries, institutions and individuals. We create a diverse range of work including brand identities, art direction, signage & wayfinding, exhibition design, print, editorial & publishing and websites from concept to production.

We investigate, explore and experiment to draw together stories which can translate and transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. This approach has always led to thoughtful and inspired design solutions, and earned us a reputation for crafting intelligent, beautiful and innovative work.

We have established an exceptional reputation through work for Architects’ Journal, British Council, Phillips de Pury, Tate Modern & Britain, Victoria & Albert Museum and Wellcome Trust and are an increasingly sought after partner for collaborations with architects, curators, creative directors and photographers.

The Happy Hypocrite

Editorial Design

The Happy Hypocrite is a bi-annual journal led by artists’ writings. Inspired and informed by avant-garde magazines such as Bananas, Documents, The Fox, Merlin and Tracks, it includes new writing and research-based projects from artists, writers and theorists expressing experimental ideas. The design of the journal has a strong bias toward typography, to reflect the written nature of the contributions, and as an element which illustrates the diversity of the works included.

Nominated for the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2010 by Rick Poynor

Make an Icon out of Popcorn

This was an experimental publishing project in collaboration with Maria Fusco and Matt’s Gallery. The publication was produced in one day with a group of artists and writers responding to a selection of Paul Thek’s teaching notes for his undergraduate seminar on 4-Dimensional Design at the Cooper Union School of the Arts, New York.
