The Art and Craft of Richard Woods

Publication

Richard Woods practices at the convergence of art, architecture and design. Encompassing the past twelve years of his career, this book functions as a scrapbook of works, ideas and production processes in Woods’ studio, and showcases his work across a variety of media including installations, paintings, sculptures, furniture, fabric and print. Throughout the book, vividly reproduced images of Woods’ finished works are interspersed with sketches, working notes and shots from inside his studio, and are accompanied by commissioned essays and facsimiles of press releases, email exchanges and magazine articles. Divider pages cut through the book as the only design intervention amidst the assortment of collected ephemera, and the scrapbook-like feel of the publication is accentuated on the cover, where the title is silkscreened over an image of one of Woods’ works.
