Sensorium Tests documents Martin’s investigations of mirror-touch synaesthesia, a newly-discovered neurological condition. We worked in close collaboration with the artist to devise a system of graphic interventions which appear throughout the book, including a one-way mirror sheet to mimic the one which appears in Martin’s film, and numerical pattern illustrations that make reference to pivotal neuroscientific experiments relating to the subject matter. The feeling of the book is simple and tactile – somewhere between a scientific research paper and an artist’s book.

Daria Martin's films often question the medium itself, its artifice, ephemerality and physical realisation of fantasy. To showcase her works we produced a site that contained a visual timeline for each, with short extracts of footage per piece. The juxtaposition caused through them sitting side by side rather than alone allows the viewer to view the works as a whole and by scrolling through them are able to find new connections or interpretations of the scenes. By working closely with Martin, we wanted the site to stop functioning as a portfolio, and take on a much more narrative feel.
